Hi, I’m Sandeep Vempati, a mechanical engineer passionate about innovation, robotics, and machine vision. I focus on building scalable, next-generation solutions that bridge cutting-edge technology with real-world impact. Many of my projects are open source and can be explored in the Projects section.

Most recently, I worked as a Senior Technical Lead at HCLTech, where I contributed to the development of Olympus Endoscopes for Asian markets. My role involved leading cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate advanced medical imaging devices that improve diagnostic and treatment outcomes.

Previously, I was a Product Manager at OIVI AS, an Indo-Norwegian health-tech startup, where I helped bring to life a 6-DOF fully automated retinal camera based on a Medical Device-as-a-Service (M-DaaS) model for preventive eye-care clinics worldwide.

Earlier in my career, I served as a Project Engineer at the Center for Innovation, L V Prasad Eye Institute, a collaborative innovation lab partnered with MIT Media Lab under the guidance of Dr. Ramesh Raskar.
